I had almost kickstarted this book and am glad I didn't. The pics and content are very interesting but, for a photo book, IT IS SO SMALL. You can barely see the photos, the book is tiny and the photos don't even take up the whole page. Very disappointing. At this size it's just Yelp for soviet sanatoriums
The writer is pretty good. Photography is good. It was pretty fun to read and gave me a glimpse of what it's like to be in these Sanatoriums, the historical information is also very interesting. Whoever said bad things about this book, go find another book because you will never be satisfied. Or maybe just relax. Lighten up will ya.

Not their fault the photography in the book was not what I expected.
A terrific view of a long hidden world both fascinating and beautiful. Lovely photographs of sumptuous buildings in beautiful locations all a part of the worker's paradise of the Soviet Union too long hidden from view. The book provides an excellent insight into this half-forgotten time where the people were honored for their labor by the state, a story that hasn't been told much until now. The book itself is lovely and very well done in hard cover with full-color photographs and accompanying text to give an interesting informed background on the who, what and why these buildings were built.
